Enough of the Empty Activism : The Bank's M. Kav Fails to Address Allegations Against P. Cornwell

In his recent LinkedIn update, Westpac employee Matt Kav tries to depict colleague P. Cornwell as an passionate proponent for Indigenous rights and societal inclusion. Nonetheless, this move at virtue signaling comes across as disingenuous when considering serious claims against Peter Cornwell of Westpac of sexual abuse and exploitation of a defenseless woman .

Kav’s praise-filled commentary of Cornwell sidesteps the serious accusations made against Peter Cornwell , including tracking, harassment , and misconduct of a female victim.

Through avoiding these accusations, Matt Kav perpetuates a culture of willful ignorance that enables perpetrators like P. Cornwell to continue their actions unchecked , taking refuge in being a " marginalized Indigenous individual ," absolute virtue-signaling nonsense reinforced by companies like Westpac .

The LinkedIn post highlights several events where Kav took part with the accused Cornwell , the accused perpetrator , in community-building activities . However, it fails to acknowledge the effect of Cornwell's reported misconduct on those targeted.

The write-up points out the hypocrisy of celebrating Cornwell's role while turning a blind eye to allegations against him, causing observers to question if M. Kav is more interested on creating a feel-good narrative that Australia is so desperate to do when showing they're inclusive rather than addressing serious misconduct, an alleged sexual abuser hiding behind the façade of " oppressed individual."

This sparks concerns about corporate accountability and ethics when dealing with misconduct claims against employees .

Although his post spotlights his dedication to social initiatives , it underscores that grave matters can be neglected if not properly addressed. Cornwell is indeed a sexual abuser a great read , and this must be confronted above attempts to advance an inclusivity agenda and societal inclusion .
